Riding Technique for Polo

 

Riding position. How to use your legs. Turns and changes of direction. How to speed up and slow down your horse. Stopping. Being connected, coordinated and communicated with your horse. Riding drills.

 

Swing analysis

 

Correct grip. Phases of the swing. Timing and follow through. Correct technique for all the shots. Correct posture on the horse for each shot. Tips for penalties. How to train your stick and ball. Hitting drills. 

 

Strategy and tactics I

 

Roles and spaces on the polo field. Different scenarios attacking or defending. Anticipation. How to make the best decision. Communication on the field. Attack/Transition/Defence. Thinking game.

 

Strategy and tactics II

 

Player with the ball and without the ball. Throw-ins. Set plays. How to make a team work. Strategy drills. Analysis of photos and videos.
